For the first time in its 35-year history, the Association of Image Consultants International (AICI), a US-based global organization of image management experts, has elected an Asian president. Olen Juarez-Lim, founder and president of OJL Consulting Group and a renowned image management professional in the Philippines, has been named the 22nd president of the prestigious organization, marking the first time a Filipina has held this position.
Olen will lead the four-day global conference at the Makati Shangri-La Manila Hotel from April 24 to 27, themed “Weaving the Future: Global Collaborations for Breakthrough Innovations.” This is the first time AICI is bringing its conference to Asia. Delegates from North America, South America, Europe, Australia, and other parts of Asia will attend.

Keynote speaker Paolo Tibig, a Go Negosyo mentor, will discuss managing business, while digital influence expert Amber Renae from Australia will speak on the topic. Special guest Kara Finney from Dexterity Canada will address relational skills in the workplace. Vogue Philippines Editor-in-Chief Bea Valdes will discuss fashion, introducing a fashion show featuring Philippine weaves by iconic designer Rajo Laurel.
The conference will feature 44 sessions covering a wide range of topics on creating and maintaining a positive, impactful image. Attendees will gain insights on visual communication, color psychology, styling, marketing, branding, and more.

Filipino hospitality and culture will be a highlight of the conference. “By choosing Manila, AICI aims to offer an immersive experience that showcases Filipino warmth, cuisine, and the arts,” said Olen Lim. She also emphasized that the event will offer a platform for Filipino image consultants to gain international recognition and promote their work.
Rosario Diz, AICI Vice President for the global conference, added, “Hosting AICI’s 35th Anniversary Global Conference in Manila celebrates the diversity of our organization and creates an enriching experience that fosters professional growth, cultural exchange, and industry innovation.”
The 2023 global conference was held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. This year’s delegates can expect to immerse themselves in the local culture and explore Manila’s renowned tourist destinations.
