As a leading global technology brand, TCL Philippines strives to “Inspire Greatness.” Indeed, this philosophy perfectly aligns with the Olympic spirit. In celebration of International Olympic Day, TCL recently launched a meaningful new initiative. Specifically, it aims to inspire young, aspiring athletes at the grassroots level. The event, dubbed the ‘TCL Basketball Camp,’ took place at Araullo High School in Manila. It gathered top basketball players and coaches to mentor the next generation.
To kickstart the program, a ceremony officially sealed the partnership between TCL Electronics and Araullo High School. Key executives from TCL and school officials attended the signing.
TCL Philippines CEO, Peter Chen, shared his excitement. “We’re happy to launch this partnership officially. As we celebrate International Olympic Day, this clinic perfectly embodies TCL’s commitment to ‘Inspire Greatness’ among kids who aspire to do their best in basketball.”

A Home Court for Future Stars
To give an enthusiastic vibe to the collaboration, TCL unveiled a newly refurbished basketball court. The company, in collaboration with Rain or Shine, refreshed the 4,700-square-foot court. In addition, TCL also donated TVs and air-conditioning units worth ₱300,000 to further enhance the school’s facilities.
The basketball activities began with a ceremonial first shot. Following this, the main highlight was the Basketball Clinic, which was facilitated by Better BasketballPH Skills Camp. Forty young athletes participated in this exciting session.

Coaching from the Pros
To add to the excitement, JD Cagulangan joined the clinic to provide guidance. As a star player for the UP Fighting Maroons and the Korean Basketball League’s Rookie of the Year, he inspired the young participants.
Furthermore, TCL’s brand partner, Blackwater Coach Jeffrey Cariaso, also shared his expertise. He led a concise coaching session for the school’s PE coaches. Ultimately, this ensures the program’s impact will last long after the event.
From Manila to Switzerland: A Global Commitment
This local initiative is part of TCL’s larger role as the official Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner. In fact, this commitment extends globally. On June 22, the Olympic Museum honored TCL in a special ceremony in Lausanne, Switzerland. They permanently added the brand’s name to the Donors’ Wall. This recognizes TCL’s significant contributions to sports and culture through technology.

The ceremony was attended by key figures from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), including then-President Thomas Bach and now-President Kirsty Coventry. This permanent addition signifies TCL’s dedication to the Olympic spirit.
As TCL Philippines continues to support local sports, it does so as part of a global legacy. The brand aims to create more vibrant activities that inspire people to connect and celebrate through sports.
