NPC

GCash, the Philippines’ leading finance super app, has partnered with the National Privacy Commission (NPC) to enhance data privacy awareness and provide educational resources nationwide, supporting the NPC’s mission. This collaboration aims to inform users about data privacy, leveraging GCash’s platform to reach a broader audience.

Ren-Ren Reyes, President and CEO of G-Xchange, Inc., stated, “This partnership underscores our commitment to the highest data privacy and security standards, strengthening user trust.” NPC Commissioner Atty. John Henry Naga added, “Through public-private collaborations, we aim to foster a secure digital environment for all.”

The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) focuses on promoting data privacy education and compliance with the Data Privacy Act (DPA). As part of the agreement, GCash will integrate NPC’s privacy awareness materials into its app’s Privacy Choices feature, allowing users to learn about the DPA. Additionally, GCash will link to the NPC’s Registration Portal for easier compliance by entities processing personal data.

The collaboration reinforces GCash’s vision of building a secure digital ecosystem and promoting financial inclusion. By providing privacy tools and educational resources, GCash aims to empower users to navigate the digital economy confidently.

In addition to working with NPC, GCash also collaborates with government agencies like the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG), the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (DICT-CICC) to combat online fraud and scams, further strengthening its commitment to user security.
